Stuff that matters

Where most families have two or three kids to consider, Sue has a whopping 22 children to buy for, with presents costing around £5,000 and then another £300 for Christmas dinner

The mum of Britain’s biggest family has started her Christmas shopping already, ensuring each of her 22 children have a special day to remember.

Sue Radford takes no chances with leaving the festivities until the last minute and gets cracking early to avoid any panic.

But where most families have two or three kids to consider, Sue has nearly two dozen kids to buy for and then grandchildren on top of that.

Confirming the beginning of her massive festive haul, Sue shared a screenshot of an order from Smyths Toys with the caption: “So it begins”.

Unsurprisingly, the huge haul of gifts doesn’t come cheap – with the spending for all the kids’ gifts stretching to over £5,000.

And what is Christmas without a Christmas dinner? The Radford’s have to budget for that too, with just the festive food costing another £300.

Each child has around £100-£250 spent on them, and to make sure there’s no mix ups on the day, Sue has bought each of them a personalised sack to keep them all in.

Sue hand wraps each gift she buys, and it has previously been reported she can wrap around 20 presents every 15 minutes.

She and husband Noel get through around 70 rolls of wrapping paper each year to cater for their massive brood.

The Radford family recently welcomed a brand-new addition to their already huge family.

Sue announced that her eldest son Chris has become a father for the third time.

The 46-year-old, who is the main star of Channel 5 documentary 22 Kids & Counting, took to Instagram to share her joy about becoming a grandmother again.

Proud parents Sue and Noel recently claimed that they have spent more than £1 million raising their 22 children.

The Radfords famously don’t claim benefits from the government and live on the income from Noel’s bakery business and their show.

Every day, Sue spends hours tidying their house, a 10-bed former care home in Morecambe which has been newly renovated.

Sue and Noel, 50, are parents to Chris, 32, Sophie, 27, Chloe, 26, Jack, 24, Daniel, 22, Luke, 20, Millie, 20, Katie, 18, James, 17, Ellie, 16, Aimee, 15, Josh, 14, Max, 12, Tillie, 11, Oscar, nine, Casper, eight, Hallie, six, Phoebe, five, Archie, three, Bonnie, two, and Heidie, one.

They share tales of their family life on their official Instagram account.

Last week they nearly forgot one of their 22 children in a Home Alone-style ‘mad rush’ to Alton Towers.

Stressed parent Sue and Noel Radford had been keeping fans up-to-date and Britain’s biggest family’s trip didn’t start well.

They were heading to Stoke-on-Trent for a mini-break to the popular theme park to celebrate son Luke’s 21st birthday, report LancashireLive.

In a video posted on YouTube, the Radfords told viewers that many of the clan were heading down from Morecambe to celebrate together – and they had a great day planned.

But mum Sue, 46, alarmed viewers when she nearly left one of the massive brood behind – with Josh, 12, not yet back from school on Wednesday.

She told viewers: “What a mad rush, the kids are all changed, ready and in the car. We were just about to set off and then realised Josh hadn’t got back from school.”

Sue said she turned to the family and asked: “Where’s Josh? Is he getting ready?”

But the youngster was yet to return – and they noticed as they were heading out the door.

Thankfully, the family avoided a terrible moment and waited for Josh to get in.
